New Calls Launched for the EU Joint Programme Initiatives

jpnd logoTwo open JPND Joint Transnational Calls were launched in December 2012 in the field of neurodegenerative disease research, both with closing dates in the second half of March this year. A new round of calls will be launched in November or December this year.

The Norwegian Research Council shared information on all EU Joint Programming Initiatives (JPIs) at a National meeting at Oslo Gardermoen Airport this week. Out of the 10 JPIs, four are health-related, and one is specifically aimed at research on Alzheimer and other neurodegenerative disorders.

"The most advanced JPI yet is the Joint Programme on Neurodegenerative Disease research (JPND). Neurodegenerative disorders will produce some of the most severe challenges our society will face in the coming years, and JPND was established to support research in this area. The ambition is to have annual calls for research proposals," Mari Nes, Department Director at the Norwegian Research Council, said during the meeting.
